While the market is slow, I've been catching up on the latest. In this month's REALTOR Magazine there's an article called "Soft Market Strategies by Maggie Seiger, Making the most of downtime. As it turns out, I'm doing well managing my time, I'm working up a full featured website, working with my camera to make better pictures, and starting new things, like blogging. These are things I meant to do someday, when I had time. Well now, I have time.
I spent the morning drafting key words and a meta tag for my new site, it'll soon be up: www.kdmccall.com . It has a message board that will probably make this spot unnecessary, still it's good practice to work on writing skills, talking with friends and customers about what's going on out there.
What is going on out there? The real estate market is slow across the nation. People in Rutherford County are seeing more days on the market as listings sit and not only don't get offers, but don't get showings. Buyers are hot for bargains, and there are some bargains to be had. This is a great time to buy, there are more than 1700 properties on the market through our MLS -- Think of the choices! Loans are still available and sellers are throwing in more goodies like home warranties.
But it's a tough time to sell. We need for our sellers to understand, traffic is down, and not just here but all over. Be patient. If you don't have to sell right now, don't. We may not see the real estate boom that we experienced in the last few years again for a long, long time. But Rutherford County is still a popular destination spot, I see lots of Internet viewings, and those indicate interest. People are still interested in moving here -- let's let them know they'd be wise to buy now.
